London mayoral candidates pledge to support the arts

Labour candidate Sadiq Khan’s manifesto includes pledges to create a London Borough of Culture Scheme and to introduce a ‘Love London Pass’, offering discounts to shows and exhibitions. Green Party competitor Sian Berry plans to require at least one minute of every hour of digital advertising in Tube stations to be dedicated to the arts, and to rewrite planning rules to benefit fringe venues.
