Music stores across the UK will be offering people taster sessions on instruments for Learn to Play Day on 16 March. Run for the first time last year, the event is inspired by a survey by Arts Council England and netmums, that found 73% of parents thought a taster session would encourage their child to take up an instrument. The event isn’t just aimed at children, encouraging adults who lapsed in their playing to have another try or pick something up for the first time.  Paul McManus, CEO of the charity Music for All, who help organise the event said, “People are often surprised to discover that they ARE musical and simply need a musical “experience” to get them started.”
