Extend Leadership Programme 2025-26 opens for applications

Extend continues to be informed by a commitment to empowering engagement and participation professionals. Extend participants are equipped to influence the sector’s development and help to ensure that learning is embedded in arts and cultural organisations. Extend is cross art form and welcomes applicant’s resident in England, Scotland and Wales who work in the arts, museums, libraries, archives and heritage settings. Apply by 9am Monday 21st July 2025.

Across 6 days (or 12 half days) delivered remotely by experts in the field, content will include:

• An introduction to different leadership styles and models in a time of change
• Exploration of your own practice and personal development planning to take leadership learning from Extend forward
• Guest speakers sharing aspects of leadership in the arts and cultural sectors
• Coaching Skills for Leadership and Advanced Communication delivered by Relational Dynamics 1st.
• Focused sessions on Finance and Governance
• The opportunity to explore your learning and develop your coaching skills in small peer learning groups alongside the main modules
• Complementary ticket for Gathering 2025, the UK’s leading event to connect with colleagues specialising in visual arts engagement and learning.

For participants who will take part in the programme as a paid employee of an organisation of any size:

• The participation fee for Extend 2025-26 is £550

For participants who will take part in the programme as a freelancer, or who otherwise will not have their participation time covered by an employer or contractor:

• The participation fee for Extend 2025-26 is £450
