We want to know how you experience work in the arts today – from pay, access and precarity to equity and workplace culture. In this latest iteration of our Arts Pay survey in partnership with Baker Richards, we’re examining how societal shifts and structural factors shape who gets to work in the arts, who gets to stay, and what it takes to thrive.

In this, the UK’s biggest survey of earnings and working conditions in the sector, we are asking readers to help us build a clearer understanding of the realities facing arts workers to inform advocacy for positive change.

Why take part?

• The findings will help you understand where your pay sits – and whether it’s in line with sector norms – and show what you might earn in other roles.
• For employers, the survey results will help to set realistic pay – to attract new talent and retain experienced workers.
• For policymakers, it will provide a benchmark for assessing remuneration within and between sectors, as well as highlighting pay discrimination.
• And for freelancers, it will reveal the fees being charged for different roles, and help you set your own fees in your pitches for work.

Who should take part?
Anyone who works or has recently worked in the arts and cultural sector at any level across all artforms  – leaders, artists, administrators, sector support workers, technicians – employed or freelance.
