In the last few years Stephen has advised the Trustees and the Executive of the National Gallery on the future masterplan for the building in Trafalgar Square. He has also developed a Cultural and Creative Strategy for the City of Portsmouth, which has led to a new cross-city cultural partnership, ‘Portsmouth Creates’, with financial support from ACE, Portsmouth City Council, the University of Portsmouth and the corporate sector.

Current projects include advising the Trustees of the Anvil Concert Hall in Basingstoke on their future strategic plan and on governance, and writing the business plan for a major new international concert hall in Wimbledon, which has been designed by Frank Gehry. He is also advising on the new Shakespeare North Playhouse in Prescot, working with the fundraising Trustees of the D-Day Story in Southsea and writing the new business plan for the Corinium Museum in Cirencester. Stephen is also advising the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra on opportunities to extend their role as Orchestra in Residence at the University of Oxford, which is leading to exciting new partnerships with individual faculties and other arts organisations.

Last year the consultancy sponsored Creative Coalition, the largest online arts festival in the UK, which was presented by the Creative Industries Federation and Creative England. In response to the current challenges facing the creative sector we have recently set up a new online arts journal, Pencil, to promote the work of individual creative artists and practitioners.
