A boy and a girl playing small pink guitars

Youth Music has listed raising the profile of its work in London with MPs, heads of children's servcies, key agencies and decisions makers, and spreading good practice, as part of its five-year plan for London 2011–15. The plan identifies five major issues for music provision in London: a lack of funding; variation in the quality of music provision; the confusing array of initiatives and schemes; the high number of deprived wards and the need to provide tailored support to smaller organisations. As well as investing £10m a year from the National Lottery, it intends to employ strategies such as working with education and skills partners to ensure better and fairer access to the arts, nudging funded organisations and businesses to share knowledge more, and continuing to support Arts Award and Artsmark use to achieve its goals.
