A new survey is giving cultural sector organisations a chance to share their experiences of involvement in the delivery of public services.

The survey will kick-start the Cultural Commissioning Programme, an Arts Council England (ACE) initiative aiming to help the arts and cultural sector with collaborations and the commissioning process. It is being funded by a £895k ACE grant, led by the National Council for Voluntary Organisations and chaired by Lord Michael Bichard. New Philanthropy Capital (NPC), the New Economics Foundation (nef) and Mission, Models, Money (MMM) are also involved as partners for its delivery. The initiative runs until June 2016, offering a variety of activities to help both commissioners in public services and those working in the art, museum and library sectors. It aims to create greater awareness of the potential of cultural organisations to deliver social objectives and public service outcomes; to raise awareness of opportunities for partnering for commissions; and to find out how arts and cultural organisations can be better commissioned to achieve greater social impact. It is also hoped that, armed with better information, arts organisations will be able to tap into a wider variety of funding sources and reach new users and audiences.

The survey, which asks about experiences of delivering publicly-funded services is open for submissions until 6 October.
