TV channel Sky Arts has re-emphasised its commitment to bringing the arts to wider audiences, and challenged the assumption that the current outlook for the arts is bleak. Its new report, ‘Building Innovative Arts Partnerships’, highlights some of the work it has championed in recent times, ranging from the Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square, to its partnership with the Hay Festival and support for ground-breaking experiments in public art with creative producer Artichoke: “Sky Arts feels strongly that art and commerce can be a successful and compelling force for good, and that innovative, intelligent partnerships offer both brands and the arts an opportunity to be an integral part of a dynamic cultural landscape.”
