After five years of development, the Royal Society for the Arts (RSA) has closed its Arts & Ecology Centre. The project, which during the past three years was delivered in partnership with Arts Council England (ACE), aimed to push forward the debate on art and the environment by hosting artistic residencies, staging debates and creating a hub of information (via a specialist website) for the wider arts world. ACE contributed £285,000 to Arts & Ecology, which was match-funded by the RSA. Emma Ridgway, Curator for Arts & Ecology, said, “The project has been a resounding success, concluding at its natural point. We are looking forward to the exciting next phase of the RSA arts programme, Citizen Power, which includes an inter-disciplinary project beginning in Peterborough.”
