Royal Exchange

The Truth about Youth: The Festival, which saw hundreds of teenagers take over the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester for two weeks in July, has launched a permanent company for young people to work in all aspects of theatre. Eighty young people will be involved in the ‘Young Company’ activities which will include writing, performing, lighting, sound and stage management. The festival in July featured a programme of events across Greater Manchester and was the culmination of the first two years of a £280,000 programme funded by the Co-operative Foundation, which aims to challenge widespread negative perceptions of young people.
