A comprehensive archive of theatre photography, including 100,000 images from around 30,000 productions has been acquired by the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The collection belonged to photographer Douglas H. Jeffery, who died in 2009 and left the pictures to the museum’s theatre and performance collection. Many of the photographs have been made available to the public via the V&A’s new tablet app, which explores the history of theatre since 1945.
