The Old Vic Punchdrunk Tunnel

The Old Vic theatre is to open a new not-for-profit venue in the tunnels beneath Waterloo Station, which will host at least four shows or art installations a year. The organisation first used the tunnels in 2009, when it collaborated with Punchdrunk theatre company to co-produce ‘Tunnel 228’, which attracted 15,000 people over its 15-day run. The first ‘Old Vic Tunnels’ season will culminate in a community production created by 100 Londoners and organised by Old Vic New Voices, the theatre’s new writing programme. It will announce open auditions in the near future.
