Next step for Creative Scotland
The film and music sectors will be the first focus of Scotland’s Creative Industries Partnership (CIP), according to a decision by its Co-ordination Group at its first meeting on 9 September. The Partnership, chaired by Creative Scotland, includes representatives from Scottish Screen and the Scottish Arts Council, the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities, Scottish Enterprise, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, the Scottish Funding Council and Skills Development Scotland. The Partnership will set up a series of Creative Industries Reference Groups, of which film and music are the first. The membership and remit of the groups will be announced next month. The CIP has been created to provide information and strategic advice to policy-makers, seek out opportunities for growth and “explore innovative approaches to developing the sector”.
