West End theatres fear new business rates will hit hard

The New West End Company has warned job losses could occur after the Government’s new business rates come into effect in April. The total tax bill for theatres in the West End is expected to swell by nearly 40% next year under the re-evaluated rates, which are based on rental values that have increased significantly in the area.
