West End theatres celebrate another record year

London’s major commercial and subsidised theatres achieved record box office takings for the 11th consecutive year in 2014, with gross sales increasing by 7% to more than £623m, according to figures published by the Society of London Theatre. Attendance increased by 1% on the previous year.
