Value of Turner Prize questioned following “weak year”

The Telegraph’s Mark Hudson has criticised the Turner Prize suggesting that it no longer reflects the diversity of art being produced in Britain today and arguing for the task of drawing up the selection list to be given over to the Art Fund. The BBC’s Will Gompertz also damned it as “quite a weak year,” while The Times’ critic said the judges were “scraping at the bottom of a barrel” and suggested that the prize should be staged only once every three years.
