Theatre Royal Stratford East overhauled by new Director

Since Nadia Fall became Artistic Director and Arts Council England’s (ACE) Neil Darlison was seconded as joint Chief Executive, five members of staff have been made redundant or left Theatre Royal Stratford East. The London theatre’s Musical Theatre Workshop has been shut down, and critics have complained further changes – such as the closure of the venue’s popular Caribbean Kitchen – will alienate the local community. It is understood the theatre has received “intervention support” from ACE to secure its finances.
