43% of theatre workers who responded to a survey run by The Stage said they had experienced workplace bullying and 31% had been subject to sexual harassment. Creatives, performers and backstage workers, and workers with disabilities, were found to be particularly vulnerable to unfair treatment.

In the majority of cases respondents said they did not report their experiences, but of the minority who did, 70% said their employer took no action in response.

The findings are in line with the conclusions drawn from AP’s survey of arts and cultural workers last year.
