Shortlisted artists slam “problematic aspects” of German prize

The four artists shortlisted for Germany’s Preis der Nationalgalerie have released a public statement criticising the prize, which has no monetary value, for expecting artists to work for exposure alone and the “self-congratulatory use of diversity as a public-relations tool”.
