David Greig, Artistic Director of Edinburgh’s Royal Lyceum Theatre, said Sir James MacMillan’s decision to accept £150k for five concerts of his work was surprising, given his previous criticism of artists as “government stooges”, and attacks on Greig for producing “propaganda masquerading as art”.
