Risk of museum closures to get “a lot worse”

The President of the Museums Association has spoken of the “dramatic drop” in funding from local councils for museums since 2011/12, and of the growing divide between museums in London and the rest of the UK, which leaves some struggling to host exhibitions. He said: “The wealthy institutions will get wealthier and the poor institutions will get poorer.”
