Record box office takings in London for tenth consecutive year

The box office income of Society of London Theatre’s (SOLT) 52 commercial and not-for-profit theatres rose by 11% to more than £585m in 2013, with attendance up by 4% at 14.6m. SOLT attribute the record results to the popularity of the shows on offer, with average theatre capacity up from 69.21% to 72.7%.
