Renfrewshire Council has granted planning persmission to redevelop the Category A listed Victorian building as part of £100m investment in cultural venues and outdoor spaces. The project, due to reopen in 2022, is expected to quadruple annual audience numbers to 125,000 and add £79m to the local economy over the next 30 years.
