The Scottish Government has distributed £17m to cultural organisations and venues in its latest wave of emergency funding.

278 recipients recieved funding from the £8.3m Culture Organisations and Venues Recovery Fund, whilst 53 venues shared the £8.6m Performing Arts Venues Relief Fund.

Creative Scotland says it is discussing with Scottish Government how £25m remaining in the two funds will be spent.

Culture Minister Jenny Gilruth said the latest funding will allow the sector “time to rebuild” beyond level zero of the country's Covid restrictions.

"It’s exciting that the sector can now plan for full reopening. This funding will play a key role in stabilising many venues and businesses as the sector begins to recover."
