Oxford Playhouse to reopen as University lecture hall

Oxford Playhouse is to become a temporary lecture space for Oxford University’s Saïd Business School and will host the school’s Masters of Financial Economics students as part of social distancing measures that will see the size of student groups fall from 80 down to 20. The deal between the two organisations will bring in an income for the theatre while it is not viable to reopen. The theatre is also working with new partners Help the Aged and Oxfordshire Association for the Blind on programmes designed to engage local people who are isolated and vulnerable.
