Northern Brass bands losing out to southern opera, MP protests

A Yorkshire MP who sits on the Culture, Media and Sport select committee has uncovered figures revealing opera has received £347.4m in funding over five years – the majority of which goes to London and the South East – compared to just £1.8m for brass bands.
