National Museum of Wales says its collections ‘embed historical injustice’

The venue has responded to research that found work by 83 women featured in temporary exhibitions between 2016 and 2018, compared to work by 273 men – and that more than half of the female artists featured in a single exhibition. Director David Anderson said the museum would now aim for a 50% target for women artists for contemporary shows.
