Mystery arts philanthropist purchases St Stephen’s Church

The Church of Scotland has agreed the sale of the former St Stephen’s Church in Edinburgh to an unknown philanthropist. The building will be retained for community use, to be run as a performing arts space, thwarting many previous attempts to convert it into flats or a leisure complex.
