Organisations that represent musicians, in Britain and internationally, have met with representatives from the EU’s Department for Transport to discuss legislative opportunities to establish the right for musicians to travel in aircraft cabins with their instruments. The Association of British Orchestras (ABO) and Musician’s Union (MU) worked with the International Federation of Musicians in a meeting with senior EU officials to identify potential systems that would ultimately provide security and certainty for musicians and orchestras when travelling.
