“Misinformed” council to cut grant to Welsh theatres

Ceredigion Council has proposed an end to the £56k grant it gives to the Mid Wales Entertainment Circuit (MWEC), which funds eight theatres, claiming it will have less impact than cutting grants to individual arts organisations. The move is based on an incorrect understanding that Powys Council will also be ending its grant to the MWEC.
