Met Museum rejigs leadership structure

Following a spiralling budget deficit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the resignation of Director Thomas Campbell – whose appointment was initially labelled “a triumph of scholarship over the more philistine skills of management and fundraising” – the institution has appointed Daniel H. Weiss, its President and Chief Operating Officer, as President and Chief Executive. Any incoming Director will now report to Mr Weiss, rather than the other way around.
