A pre-Raphaelite painting depicting pubescent nymphs has been removed from display at Manchester Art Gallery and, in its place, visitors are being invited to share their reactions on post-it notes. The gallery said the move is intended to “prompt conversations about how we display and interpret artworks” and is a reaction to the ‘Time’s Up’ and ‘#MeToo’ movements.
