New research by Shadow Culture Secretary Tom Watson estimates spending fell by £1.08bn between 2009 and 2016/17, down to £2.17bn. In a speech today he is expected to warn the cuts combine with Brexit and declining National Lottery receipts to create a ‘triple whammy’ for arts organisations.
