Ofsted Chief Inspector Amanda Spielman has said there is a mismatch between the number of students taking arts courses and the chances of future employment. She has criticised Further Education colleges for listing jobs that are unavailable to most learners in their adverts for arts courses, and asked whether colleges are putting “the financial imperative of headcount in the classroom” ahead of the best of interests of young people.
