Documenta 14 under fire following reports of multi-million-dollar deficit

The exhibition, which took place simultaneously in Athens and Kassel, Germany, has been defended by its curatorial team following reports of a €7m deficit. Around 200 artists, researchers and musicians have also declared support for the show in a letter applauding the decision not to charge for tickets in Athens and criticising the “shaming through debt” as an “ancient financial warfare technique”.
