Director Michael Colgan apologises for “misjudged behaviour”

The former Artistic Director of Dublin’s Gate Theatre, who has been accused of inappropriate and aggressive behaviour, has apologised for causing distress in an article in Ireland’s Sunday Independent. Colgan writes that he should have “respected the difference” between employees and friends but argues his behaviour should not be equated with “sexual crimes”.
