Cultural funding ‘crisis’ in Cumbria

Ian Stephens, Managing Director of Cumbria Tourism, is “very concerned” about the number of cultural events that are running out of money. Venues including Whitehaven’s Civic Hall and Ulverston’s Lanternhouse have closed, alongside event cancellations and the scaling back of programmes.
