Cultural events contribute £55m to Liverpool’s local economy

A new report on Culture Liverpool in 2014 found that three major cultural events attracted 1.4 million people to the city – with 173,000 coming from outside of the North West and 34,000 from overseas – and generated £55m for the local economy. The report also found that 41 cultural organisations shared £3.2m in funding to create a combined turnover of £33m.
