£8.5m has been allocated to the city to improve facilities ahead of its year as UK City of Culture in 2021. Part of the funding will be used to refurbish the Belgrade Theatre and create a new talent hub in the building. The announcement comes the week after Arts Council England awarded Coventry £5m to prepare for the programme.
