A £390,000 project will make the Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust (RPMT) more socially engaged and progressive.

Chief Executive Officer Hedley Swain said the RPMT’s Cultural Change project will “ensure we are equitable and socially engaged in everything we do” over the next three years.

The funding, received from the James Henry Green Trust, will help create two new roles within the organisation, including a diversity manager.

An oversight group and staff working group will be created across the trust’s five venues in Brighton.

Interpretation labels, panels and object displays will be reviewed and the history of the trust’s buildings and collections researched to “reflect on the legacies”.

“Culture Change RPMT will, for the first time, draw together all our staff, our buildings and collections, our resources, our communities and strategic partners to promote holistic organisational change,” Swain added.
