Lincoln City Council's decision to end its £187,000 annual grant to Lincoln Drill Hall has placed its future in serious doubt. The Drill Hall stages theatre, music concerts, comedy shows, community workshops and classes, but its business model was assessed as being unsustainable even before the coronavirus pandemic. Despite a 5,000 signature petition urging councillors to continue supporting the centre, the council said it was not financially viable in the long-term and will not be funding it beyond April 2021.
