Spoken word artist George the Poet said the unprovoked incident took place last Thursday after a performance in London, when police asked him about his car, searched it for weapons and put him in a van. Shadow Home Secretary Diane Abbott expressed sympathy, tweeting that similar random stops end up poisoning police-community relations.
