Apollo Theatre’s ceiling collapse was due to weak and old materials

Part way through its investigation into the incident that saw 76 people injured, Westminster City Council has said hessian wadding embedded within the ceiling was getting weaker over time. The Theatres Trust is calling for buildings to undergo regular expert inspections using new surveying methods.
