ACE and Ministry of Justice clash over Reading theatre

Although Theatre & Arts Reading (TAR) has received Arts Council funding to study the viability of turning Reading Prison into a theatre, TAR Chief Executive Hilary Scott said the organisation is not being given access to the prison by the Ministry of Justice, which is reportedly more interested in building housing on the site. Scott added ACE is looking for ministerial support to address the issue.
