The National Theatre of Scotland (NToS) will be taking two of its shows to America this autumn. NToS received a £195,000 grant from the International Touring Fund which will enable it to showcase The Wolves in the Walls and Black Watch (pictured) to an international audience. Black Watch, which was performed at the Edinburgh Festival last year and has just completed a tour of Scotland, is based on interviews with former soldiers who served in Iraq and explores what it means to be part of the war on terror.

Vicky Featherstone, Chief Executive of NToS, commented, The National Theatre of Scotland is delighted to be able to take these two pieces of very different theatre to an audience beyond Scotland. In order for us to justify our national status it is vital that we create work which, as well as communicating to audiences at home, has a universal appeal.
