Artes Mundi, the bi-annual international visual arts initiative has announced that St Davids 2, a £675m retail-led development in Cardiff city centre, is to be a major sponsor of Artes Mundi 3. The £100,000 sponsorship package will include funding for a new series of education and visitor programmes designed to reach out to every schoolchild in Wales.

More than 3,000 children visited the Artes Mundi 2 exhibition in 2006 at the National Museum Cardiff, and workshops were over-subscribed. The new Artes Mundi 3 education programme will include a free bi-lingual CD-Rom education pack to enable teachers to prepare for visits and to use computers to bring aspects of the Artes Mundi exhibition virtually into the classroom. Schools can register early to receive their free copy of the Artes Mundi 3 CD-Rom Education Pack from March 2008. e: schools@artesmundi.org
