A programme to train twelve digital producers to develop creative technology projects is to be pioneered in Wales. The project, supported by the Arts Council of Wales and delivered in collaboration with National Theatre Wales, will give producers the chance to undertake personal and professional development through skills swapping, networking and knowledge exchange, as well as the opportunity to spend time with peers at Watershed’s Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol. The role of digital producers is to rally the talents of scientists, artists, technologists, designers, amateurs and academics, to share ideas, take risks and develop projects that contribute to the creative economy. Katherine Jewkes, Digital Associate at National Theatre Wales, said: “It’s exciting for us to be involved in a scheme which is setting out to create a space for producers to re-imagine their role within the context of digital, how it effects practice, creativity and innovation.”
