A year-long programme is being established to help Yorkshire-based arts organisations come up with new funding strategies. A £75k Arts Council England Lottery grant will fund the Creative Capital Programme, which is primarily designed to support ACE-funded organisations that have had significant cuts or are being required to develop new revenue streams. It will aim to help those organisations improve their skills and identify the assets they have that could be of value in new relationships and collaborations with the private sector. Yorkshire-based consultancy CidaCo will be running the programme, and Chief Executive Anamaria Wills said: “Arts organisations have a natural flair for innovation that they apply to their creative work and productions, but they are not always used to applying that same flair to business and in particular increasing income. CidaCo will work with Creative Capital participants to harness that flair as an invaluable business tool and to achieve greater revenue.”
