Harrogate Theatre is finalising plans for a collaboration with Harrogate Borough Council which will see the Theatre take over responsibility for live entertainment programming at the Royal Hall in the town. The recently refurbished 1,000 seat Edwardian concert hall forms part of the Harrogate International Centre, and a season of work is being planned and promoted in a new-look brochure under the collective identity of Harrogate Theatres, to highlight the full range of cultural activity in the district. The new way of working follows on from Harrogate Theatre’s introduction of a new box office last year, which provides a one-stop shop for events at multiple venues and festivals within the region. Negotiations between Harrogate Theatre and Harrogate Borough Council/Harrogate International Centre over the long-term strategic management of the Royal Hall are still ongoing.
