Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company Michael Boyd has been Knighted for services to drama. The Queen’s Birthday Honours list also makes Philanthropist Theresa Sackler, who has been a patron of Dulwich Picture Gallery, Sadlers Wells, and the National Gallery of Scotland, a Dame for services to the arts.

Figures from the arts and media account for 6 % of this year’s list. These include Sadler's Wells Chief Alistair Spalding, Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company Victoria Heywood, Director of the National Museums of Scotland Dr Gordon Rintoul, Chair of the Development Council at the National Theatre Susan Chinn, and Founder of choral group The Sixteen Dr Harry Christophers, who all become CBEs.

Honoured with OBEs are Turner Contemporary Director Victoria Pomery, Royal Opera House Director Elaine Padmore and Performances Birmingham Chief Executive Andrew Jowett. Co-Directors of Artangel James Lingwood and Michael Morris both become MBEs.
